The Great Alleluia

Like the prodigal son, after frequent bouts of self-indulgence, we 'come to our senses' not once but as many times as necessary. We turn round again and return home. We also have to deal with the condemnatory elder brother syndrome in our own psyche. Above all, like both sons, we have to learn who the Father really is who welcomes us back so humbly and so often and calls us to join the feast of life he has put on for us. Let us rejoice in the risen Lord on this most Holy Sunday.

Helping Others

the daffodils
are
sold by the
American Cancer Society
each spring

~ ~ ~
it will be another
4 to 6 weeks
before
they bloom here

Every year I buy bunches of daffs to have in the house. Not to much longer the ones in the garden will begin to bloom.

Presence

Good photos mostly seem to arrive from some place other than my own head, my own limited imagination. More often than not I click the shutter in response to something outside myself -- which has actually been helping me to understand the concept behind "begotten, not made."  The last few posts have been of one of my most loved and adored gifts from God.  The love for gardening, as well as, the love for flowers of all shapes, sizes, and types. This orchid above brings to mind  Mark Nepo's quote from The Book of Awakening in which he says, "If peace comes from seeing the whole, then misery stems from a loss of perspective." How could anything be in a state of unrest when in the presence of Love?

Awake to Possibiities

“All the possibilities of your human destiny are asleep in your soul. You are here to realize and honor these possibilities. When love comes in to your life, unrecognized dimensions of your destiny awaken and blossom and grow. Possibility is the secret heart of time.”
~John O'Donohue, Anam Cara: A Book of Celtic Wisdom~

John O'Donohue is one of many of my favorite spiritual writers, as well as, philosopher, and poet.  O'Donohue believed that it is within our power to transform our fear of death so that we need fear little else this life brings. His unexpected death in his sleep at 52, robs the world of a genuinely original religious mind who, accidentally, became a bestselling writer and public speaker.
Once our souls are awakened to the possibilities of what we are capable of, that is when the unrecognized parts of ourselves begin to be revealed to the light and love of those around us, and this is where we realize our greatest potential.

Angel Wings

This is AWESOME!

Please take a few minutes to LISTEN TO THIS..it is so worth it!!

Please make sure your sound is on......a great accompanying song...

One reason it is called Angel, is that when the plane releases its decoy missiles,
as is shown in several of the pictures, it creates and Angel shape in light & smoke.
