Holy Saturday

Elegance and beauty she is the essence and embodiment of the spiritual of the divine Feminine. She  teaches grace and tenderness and awareness of another way of being. The butterfly is the embodiment of spiritual growth and transcendence perhaps more that any other form on earth. It is a transformation from beginning to end. The Alpha and the Omega.

Blood or Pashcal Moon

Total Lunar Eclipse 4/15/14
One of four Blood Moons in the next 18 months
Just a little over half way through

Almost Complete
Full Moon 4:35
The total lunar eclipse lasted about 78 minutes.(starting about 2:10) The other three images were taken between 3:30 and 4:14. The sight from beginning to end was such a beautiful experience, and I was glad I had made the decision to become part of this magical, mystical occurrence. In the night sky the Moon, Mars and Spica formed a triangle that was very bright and visibly noticeable. Spica is the brightest star in the constellation Virgo. This Moon or( Pashcal) is significant because it is used to determine what date Easter will fall on each year. This is why Easter is a movable holiday, occurring anywhere from late March to late April.

Waiting

Holy Week -- the exhilaration of the beginning, the impatience in the temple, the humility of Maundy Thursday, the agony of the cross, the waiting -- both in the garden, and by the tomb -- and the rejoicing in glory that illuminates its completion -- encapsulates that whole growth process year after year. Just as these beautiful daffodils express beginning, impatience, awe,  rejoicing, and death. To be able to see this process in  our lives or in the life of the beautiful flowers placed on this earth, is truly a blessing that was given to us by a power greater than ourselves.

Chrism Mass (Holy Week )

Holy chrism is a mixture of olive oil and balsam, an aromatic resin. This oil is linked with the sanctification of individuals. This oil is used in the sacraments of baptism, confirmation, and holy orders, since they impart an indelible sacramental character. The blessing of the Holy Chrism is different from that of the other oils.
As our bishop blessed these oils at the Chrism Mass,  hearts turn to our gracious Lord who bestows His infinite love and mercy to us through these sacraments. Let our bishops, priests and deacons who are the ministers of these sacraments in many parishes throughout the world, be the humble and generous servants of the Lord.

Chanticleer's Call (Beginning of Holy Week)

St. Peter’s sin
We’ve all denied
Falling among those
Who’ve been there and cried.

One holy scripture
Puts it all together
In a scene, past and future.

Christ stands amazed,
Peter stands with fixed gaze,
Two fingers put to surprised lips
That says forgive my ways.

But in between we hear Chanticleer,
As though not seen
As Peter’s tears run down,
Our Chanticleer face.

Poor Peter how he must of felt,
How heartsick for himself
And still cannot come to see,
The sound of Chanticleer yet might bless
This dreadful rooster came to mean forgiveness.

That even the Prince of the Apostles long since,
Had been forgiven, as well as convince
All of us “deny, deny, deny,”
Is not always heard in the rooster’s cry.

The darkness leaves and the sun rushes in,
Following to see the beginning and the end
Faithful as enemy, or friend.

Smiles

"A house with daffodils in it is a house lit up, whether or not the sun is shinning outside."
                                           ~A.A. Miline~

Representations of a new beginning, a renewal of self, and a change of heart. How much more can a flower do for the soul of man?  Daffodils are God's way of smiling at us.

Face of the Week (Bleu)

Bleu's presence is a part of my daily observances; he lives next door to me. How wonderful is that? I watch Bleu move ever so slowly from place to place. It gives me time for pause in the routine of my day. Just that silent moment observing another wonderful countenance and wondering how empty my days will be when Bleu saunders to his heavenly home. Bleu is fourteen years old.

Experiences

"In my experience there has rarely been an absolute determination that 'I should have done this rather than that' because whatever I have done shapes what I am at this particular point in time.  I might regret something I did in the past, but some form of life is inevitably born from it, something that would not otherwise exist.  This is the way of creation."
~Shawn McNiff In Trust the Process~
The images above were taken last June at the  old Hewlett Packard designated recreational area across from our summer home in Colorado. The flowers are wild snapdragon. This area is a great place to hike, enjoy wildflowers, and view many forms of God's creation. This recreational area has since moved a few miles away and is now dedicated to thousands of acres of pristine forests and grassland. Thanks Hewlett Packard for the vision of preservation.
