Pelican in Flight

Pelicans feasting on fish on the river. The American pelican is amazing to watch fishing, flying and swimming. Today there were hundreds of gulls, terns, and pelicans all sharing the same river, the same space, and the same catch of the day.

Vision of Westward Expansion

Just think what Lewis and Clark might have to say to this tribute to
                               westward expansion!

Early Morning at the Lake

Heaven is right here on Earth, if you only look, smell, touch and listen as if you were to lose those senses tomorrow. If you do one thing today, stop and observe the miracle of life happening all around you.

~Enough is just to observe, just to experience, enjoy, and watch life go by. I
don't need to understand, or hold on just be comfortable to live in life's mystery.~

Pine Warbler

During this season of watching birds the suet feeder is almost a daily routine. I find meditating in nature makes me realize there is a living breathing world of mystery and sensitivity, a realm of wisdom and learning that is always whispering its teachings to us.

Yellowstone Moose

Beautiful, massive, moose being in the oneness of things erroneous views will disappear by themselves.

On the Elk Refuge

At the base of the Grand Teton Mountains is the National Elk Refuge. It was created in 1912 to protect habitat and provide sanctuary for one of the largest elk herds on earth. The elk will eat up to 8 pounds of alfalfa pellets a day. That equates to about 45 tons of food to feed about 9,000 elk per winter.

Facing Sacred Moments

It is tempting to want the answers before we begin the journey. We like to have maps. We like to have guides. But we are more like a breathing puzzle, a living bag of pieces, and each day shows us what a piece or two is for, where it might go, how it might fit. Over time, a picture starts to emerge by which we begin to understand the pieces and how and where they fit. Just as these beautiful images of the trumpet swans helped place a few pieces of my puzzle and where they are to fit.

Not Wild

Found these buffalo at the Neil Smith Wildlife Refuge. These animals are very tame and seem to like people. Unlike the ones encountered in Yellowstone National Park. These massive buffalo actually came up to the car and stood around. I think the wild ones leave one with a nostalgia of the past.

There are so many pleasures that allow me to delight in the present moment. The beauty of this barn is in that moment.
