Taking Time for Creation

The blessing in getting away from the dailyness of life and back to the
hills lies in learning yet again how small a role our lives play in the magnitude of creation.

Bridge to Nowhere

How many can say they live a half a mile from a bridge to nowhere? Before September 13, 2013 three acres of land provided a place for the practice of fly fishing. The owner dedicated this property to fly fishing and flying fishing lessons. Today this is the scene from my deck, and I refer to this structure as the bridge to nowhere. During the 2013 flood that swept the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains, the raging waters swept away almost all of this parcel of land. And this is what is left. I think the optimism, ingenuity, and the ability to turn loss into a positive force for others is what hope is all about.

Just for Today

“Just for today” reminds us to be in the moment.
We can’t control the past or the future, but we can be in this moment and remind ourselves of the 5 Reiki Principles

Just for today, I will give thanks for my many Blessings.
Just for today, I will not worry.
Just for today, I will not hold on to my anger.
Just for today, I will do my work honestly.
Just for today, I will be kind to my neighbor and every living thing, including myself.
One of the key concepts of Reiki is detachment from the outcome.
When we are detached, we learn to be in the moment. We can acknowledge situations that cause us anger or worry, but we learn not to identify with them so closely.
And so it is.

Barriers

It makes a difference, doesn’t it, whether we fence ourselves in, or whether we are fenced out by the barriers of persons, places, or things.  Barriers, boundaries, fences, lines, are all ways of limiting our experiences, perceptions, and abilities to go beyond what our minds perceive.

Face of the Week

This is Regan who is patiently waiting for his owner.
Regan lives high in the Rocky Mountains and is often found
seeking attention by whom ever walks by. Regan sees only
                     through the eyes of love.

Appeal

However much we humans hate to be boxed in.  It is still true
that things are often more appealing with a gentle frame
         around it.
