Appearances

"The appearance of things changes according to our emotions;
and thus we see magic and beauty in them,
while the magic and beauty are really in ourselves."

The Key is Within

We spend our life building higher fences and stronger locks,
when the gravest dangers are already inside.

Loving Yellow

The yellow jacket loving yellow.
I believe in Christ
like I believe in the Sun.
Not because I can see it, but by it I can see
EVERYTHING ELSE!

Nature always wears the colors of the spirit."

Simply Nature

No individual exists in their own nature, independent of all other factors of life. Each has the totality of the Universe at their base. All individuals have, therefore, the whole Universe as their common ground, and this universality becomes conscious in the experience of enlightenment, in which the individual awakens into their own true all-embracing nature.
                                                        ~Lama Govinda

As Lama Govinda so eloquently puts it, enlightenment is an experience in which all of the essential relation becomes more that knowable, it becomes an essence to essence, a pre-existing spiritual quality of Oneness  that is enlivened. Imagine that beneath our fear, and distrust there is a stream of ongoing Oneness, and the only way to enter is to take our distrust and experiences good and bad and enter the stream with the complete knowing we are loved and held by ever flower, rock, and stream in which our consciousness is ever present beyond just the knowable.

Small Things

I long to accomplish a great and noble task,
but it is my chief duty to accomplish small tasks
as if they were great and noble.

Things That Are Difficult

I'm thankful for the difficult people in my life, they have shown me exactly who I don't want to be. The hard part is practicing the lessons learned from such people which with  practice I'm open to the love and presence of God and the healing action and grace within.

Indian Paintbrush

The Indian Paintbrush plant is from the Snapdragon or Figwort Family and is known as hemi-parasites or a root parasite. The only way for a Paintbrush to survive is to stick it's tubes, which are called 'haustoria' into the roots of a host plant. Here in the West, that could be sagebrush. They depend upon another plant for not only nutrients, but water, too. They are annuals. And remember, if you plant their seeds--they need a 'host' plant in order to survive, or they won't live. The height of a Paintbrush entirely depends upon the richness of the soil and how much water it gets. The more water, the better the soil, the taller it becomes. Obviously, this plant doesn't transplant well. Since these plants are growing in my backyard here in Estes I couldn't resist taking pictures of them.
