For as long as I can remember, the abandoning of any given place has lured me. In school it was history, in traveling it was old doors and churches, ghost towns high in the Rockies and broken down will mills on farms and ranches that are now neglected. Photography can capture the abandoned essence of places and things that have been left behind. I find a story in these forgotten places Someone, somewhere, was the very last person to use this, see this, or love this place, or thing. Where did they go? Why did they go? Lives move on and out leaving behind the remnants of a life once lived. Many starting over to build a new awareness somewhere else. Nevertheless, a lingering human presence still pervades what is left.
